Sultron® LSG R5100 PPSU
Sultron® LSG R5100 PPSU (Life Science Grade) stock shapes are made from unfilled Radel® PPSU resin that is pre-assessed for biocompatibility. The stock shape is also pre-assessed for biocompatibility for up to 24 hours contact with body and tissue according to USP VI and ISO 10993. Some color variations are also pre-assessed for use in wetted contact applications in bioprocessing.

With superior hydrolysis resistance, Sultron® LSG R5100 PPSU shapes are highly resilient against repeated autoclaving cycles. In addition, components made from this material exhibit resistance to common acids and bases over a broad temperature range, such as commercial washing solutions.

Often favored across the medical and life science fields for their wide array of color options, these PPSU components are excellent candidates for a broad range of applications such as trial implants, sterilization trays, dental and surgical instrument handles, bioprocessing fluid handling caps, couplings, and fittings.
    Material properties
  • Pre-assessed on both resin and stock shape for up to 24 hours contact with body or tissue according to USP VI and ISO 10993
  • Some colors pre-assessed for wetted contact in bioprocessing
  • Unfilled Radel® PPSU base for biocompatibility on resin
  • Superior ductility and hydrolysis resistance for autoclaving and hot washing
  • Wide array of color options
Sultron® LSG FG R5100 PPSU
Sultron® LSG FG R5100 PPSU (Life Science & Food Grade) stock shapes are made from unfilled Radel® PPSU resin that is pre-assessed for biocompatibility. The stock shape is also pre-assessed for biocompatibility for up to 24 hours contact with body and tissue according to USP VI and ISO 10993, as well as wetted contact in bioprocessing. Standard food approvals include the FDA 21 CFR § 177.2500, while this specific FG type has the EU 10/2011 Food Grade as an extra feature.

With superior hydrolysis resistance, Sultron® LSG FG PPSU shapes are highly resilient against repeated autoclaving cycles. In addition, components made from this material exhibit resistance to common to acids and bases over a broad temperature range, such as commercial washing solutions.

The additional food grade compliance (based on food-related migration tests) makes this material an excellent candidate for applications in the bioprocessing fields, such as manifolds, valves, connectors, lids, and adapters.
    Material properties

Sultron® PSU
Sultron™ Polysulfone PSU is a translucent material that offers a combination of excellent mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. This grade often replaces polycarbonate whenever higher temperature resistance, improved chemical resistance, or autoclavability is required. Sultron™ PSU shapes are ideal for analytical instrumentation and semiconductor process equipment components due to their outstanding radiation stability, and resistance to acidic and salt solutions, detergents, hot water, and steam.
    Material properties
  • Broad temperature range capability
  • Good thermal and electrical insulation characteristics
  • Hydrolysis resistant
  • Radiation stability
  • Excellent mechanical properties
Sultron® LSG PSU
Sultron® LSG PSU (Life Science Grade) stock shapes are made from unfilled Udel® PSU resin that is pre-assessed for bicompatibility. The stock shape is also pre-assessed for biocompatibility for up to 24 hours contact with body and tissue according to USP VI and ISO 10993 and wetted contact applications in bioprocessing.

Sultron® LSG PSU shapes exhibit great mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. In addition, good hydrolysis resistance makes components resilient against repeated autoclaving cycles as well as other sterilization methods such as dry heat, EtO (ethylene oxide), plasma, and gamma irradiation.

Because of these properties, as well as the material’s visual transparency, Sultron® LSG PSU components are great candidates for applications in the medical and bioprocessing fields such as applicators, manifolds, steam cleaning equipment inserts, and valves.
