Our Solution

Pharmaceutical - Processing drugs

During the manufacture of pill tablets, the product is diverted into individual lines using the turn arm. These arms must be kept steady and straightforward throughout its life cycle. The company that makes these handlebars has fabricated them from Hydex * PBT but has struggled to maintain the required flatness. The design of the department includes a tape at one end of the "hockey" shaped bar (top of the blade). The overall thickness of the body is 4.83 mm and can be extended up to 0.89 mm at the top. Although materials are machined from both sides of the sheet, they cannot keep parts flat after machining. Ertalyte satisfies all the requirements and is chosen as a substitute material.

Desalination - water plant equipment

The principle of this device, used to produce drinking water (desalination) in onboard equipment, is based on reverse osmosis. The function of this device is to take advantage of the 60 bar high pressure required to produce drinking water from seawater. The production of drinking water is carried out in a large chamber made of 2 boreholes: one for drinking water and the other for seawater. A filter is placed between 2 drill holes. Water can go from one compartment to the other through the filter and vice versa. To pass through the filter, a pressure of 60 bar will be applied to push water through the filter with osmotic pressure. This device is a dual pressure styler. After pushing water through the filter to one of the drill holes, the high pressure is conserved and back into the other chamber. To enable this dual functionality a receiver with an internal plunger is required. The plunger has a special design combined with a reciprocal movement, allowing pressure to travel from one line to another and thus reversing pressure from one circuit to another.

Ice and ice cream production facility

The dramatic increase in production volumes during the hottest days of the summer prompted a stone producer to contact us. High-speed production requires material improvements for equipment parts, especially as a substitute for the metal used as a flange bearing in a shavings, ice-cream facility.

Train, electric car

Trams are used for public transport on the Belgian coast. The trains consist of three main parts (trolleys): A front part, a final part with a dashboard and the middle part is the third floating section. The bearings provide the trolley with flexibility to follow the rails along curvilinear or steep rails.

A disc allows for lateral rotation of the vessel, while cylindrical bearings allow for longitudinal flexibility when riding on ramps. Both the gear unit, the spindle disc and the cylindrical ball bearing, are now made of Ertalyte, replacing "Permaglide" (PTFE heat-resistant material) due to better performance.
