Hamakyu BU5E is built for applications where standard polycarbonate impact resistance is not enough. The coating improves scratch, abrasion and chemical resistance while keeping the core advantages of PC sheet: transparency, toughness and fabrication flexibility.

• Taber abrasion (100r): 0.14% ΔHaze (Standard PC: 27.8% Haze, ASTM D1044 CS-10F / 500g)
• Taber abrasion (500r): 3.30% ΔHaze (Standard PC: 28.6% Haze, ASTM D1044 CS-10F / 500g)
• Steel wool scratch: 0.1% ΔHaze (Standard PC: 17.5% Haze, HOMAX #0000 250g / 50 cycles)

Technical disclosure: base resin values are equivalent to Hamakyu standard grades and optimized for 5mm. Surface enhancement reduces haze values in Taber tests, outperforming standard market coatings by 198x in 100-cycle friction tests. Unlike conventional hard coatings, BU5E supports cold bending without coating delamination or stress cracking while maintaining IATF 16949 automotive-grade quality standards.
