HDPE
At a temperature of 23oC/50% RH, when placed in air, PA (Polyamide) has a hydrating capacity of 1.7-2.8%; At a temperature of 23oC, when immersed in water, the saturation of PA fluctuates from 5.5% (Ertalon 66 - GF30) to 9.5% (Ertalon 4.6), which will cause unwanted volume changes. Therefore, PA is often used for parts that have little contact with water such as bearings of mechanical parts, gears, cams, and bolt parts. PA with many self-lubricating variants such as Ertalon LFX, Ertalon NSM, Nylatron LFG, Nylatron 703 XL used for internal parts. Ertalon 6 PLA or Nylatron LFG is safe in contact with food.
Polycarbonate (PC)
Compared to PA plastic. Pom (Polyacetal) plastic has outstanding waterproof properties, it is only absorbed 0.8% (for Pom C, Pom H) and 0.72% for Ertacetal H-TF in 23oC water environment. Low water absorption makes Ertacetal always dimensionally stable, it is suitable for making racks and molds, heavy duty belts, gears, rails, cushions, electronic components, pumps, furniture automobiles, textile machine parts, conveyor screws, factory components, electrical insulation parts, machinery for food processing plants (according to FDA, EU Food & 3A Dairy Compliant standards).
Ertalyte (Polyethylene Terephthalate) PET
Ertalyte's water absorption rate in 23oC water environment is only 0.5%, Ertalyte TX is 0.47%.
